An incredible enrichment to homeschooling

We are a community of families finding connection in nature. We offer a family forest school and a drop-off class, as well as many other field trips and events throughout the year! If you’re a homeschooling family looking for an enrichment program, we want you and your kiddos to be part of our community!

Slow, intentional living

“Research has confirmed time and time again that what children are naturally and unabashedly drawn to, unrestricted outside play, contributes to every area of child development.” - Ginny Yurich, 1000 Hours Outside

Our play-based program focuses on following the interests of the children. Even without a formal curriculum, kids will learn physical, social, and emotional skills that will benefit their development in unimaginable ways.

Play is enough

“Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play is serious learning” - Mr. Rogers

We want kids to be kids! At forest school, kids can have the time to play, learn, and explore in the way that kids have always been meant to! We want to help kids develop a sense of wonder about the world around them. With extended time to play in nature, kids thrive!

“There’s no such thing as bad weather”

Our forest school is outside in all kinds of weather! This builds resiliency and adaptability in kids. With the proper outerwear, we’ll be able to experience each unique season in the forest. During colder months, tea by the fire helps us stay warm! Our Tuesday/Thursday drop-off class takes a break during the coldest winter months, but we still meet on Fridays for Family Forest School.

All ages welcome

Family forest school is for all ages! Bring your newborn baby in a carrier and get out to meet some new mom friends. We love having big kids with us too! Our drop-off classes are for ages 3-10, and we have an apprenticeship program for tweens and teens. We have a wide age range on purpose! There are so many benefits to being around kids in different stages. The oldest kids gain leadership skills and the younger ones learn from them and look up to them.

Community

Community is at the heart of our mission. We want kids AND parents to experience the benefits of nature time in community. Join us for Family Forest School on Friday mornings as a family. This program is open to anyone to join us at anytime!
